Starting June, CIRCULAR LIBRARY is curating upcycling workshops partnered with local artists and brands to promote circular fashion. All of the workshops are designed to teach people how to repurpose their own garments.

The first collaboration was with The Laughing Geisha, a LA-based vintage upcycled brand. The Laughing Geisha showed attendees how to do screen printing, patchwork and sashiko hand stitching. With the same techniques, people applied to their own garment in many different creative ways.

People brought their white tank tops and turned into stylish ONE AND ONLY piece that they can enjoy all summer. One of them made a tie and attached it to the top of the tank top. Plain blazers become a fashion statement that represent one’s taste, so as a jeans, hoodie, and a bag.

The Laughing Geisha demonstrated on LE CASHMERE’s damaged crewneck sweater to be upcycled. We will continuously ask local brands/artists to upcycle our garments and showcase the final pieces at the store. Stay tuned!
