Did you know that flower petals, fallen leaves, and even kitchen scraps can be transformed into beautiful colors and unexpected patterns—using nothing more than simple kitchen tools? Stop by anytime between Noon-4pm to paint a Valentine postcard using natural dyes made from local plants and kitchen scraps. $20 per participant - paint as many cards as you like! No reservation needed. About Instructor Alisa Benfey is a textile and graphic designer and a self-taught natural dyer. Originally from Tokyo, she earned a BFA in Graphic Design from CalArts and an MFA in Textile Design from Tama Art University. With a focus on sustainable design, Alisa incorporates natural dyes into her creative process and color research. She runs her textile brand, IROCOH, and teaches workshops across Los Angeles. |
