Other Lives Studio is a concept hatched by friends and co-creators Betsy Flores and Kim Krempien. Having worked in fashion for over a decade, they grew frustrated with the quickening pace of the fashion cycle & the toll their beloved industry was taking on the environment. The two resolved to use their industry design experience to tackle the problem and came together to inspire a new cycle for fashion.
Description:
Learn how to DIY your own pieces through floral appliqué + bow embellishment design techniques. We'll teach you how to create custom fabric floral appliqués, hand sew bow details, layout basics, and help brainstorm new ideas with you. This workshop is all about hand making appliqués from scraps and creating new pieces through re-design.
We will provide fabric remnants, tools, ribbon, plenty of trims and inspiration. We will show you how to create rosettes + bow embellishments from things you already have and how to recreate old pieces in your wardrobe! Our goal is to encourage a playful approach to upcycling and help re-use scraps and deadstock trims to create something new, giving you the skills to hand embellish anything you set your mind to.
