Isa Spies is a Sustainable Fashion Stylist based in Los Angeles with a passion for cultivating a more conscious fashion world. Breaking the mold of traditional sustainable fashion, she combines her styling expertise with a distinctive aesthetic to craft powerful, purpose-driven campaigns and imagery. Rejecting the notion that style and sustainability can’t go hand in hand, she brings a creative flair to commercial, music video, editorial, and personal styling projects by weaving in vetted independent brands, innovative materials, upcycling, and unique vintage pieces. Each project reflects her commitment to aesthetics, values, and the planet, proving that fashion can be both stylish and values-driven!
Kenzie Curran is a Los Angeles-based Sustainable Textile Artist and designer dedicated to promoting mindful fashion practices. Specializing in creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces from scrap textiles, Kenzie combines creativity with a commitment to reducing waste. With a background in chemical engineering, sustainability, and community outreach, Kenzie strives to empower others with the tools and knowledge to embrace sustainable practices. Through her work, she fosters a deeper connection between fashion, community, and the environment.
Description:
This workshop invites you to reconnect with your wardrobe and embrace sustainable practices in a hands-on, creative way to extend the life of your garments. This event offers guidance on building a more conscious wardrobe and maintaining your pieces over time.
Bring those “back-of-the-closet” pieces you no longer wear or items with some wear and tear, and our Stylist will help you reimagine them to suit your current phase of life. Next, in the mending section of the workshop learn invisible stitching for rips, seam repair, and patching to extend the life of these garments. Bring your denim, cotton blends, and natural fibers!
No more straight to the donation or rag bin! Let us guide you on how to make your garments endure the test of time. A celebration of circular fashion, this event will give you the tools and inspiration to rethink, repair, and revitalize your wardrobes!
What to bring:
Please bring 1-2 clothing items from your personal closet that are in need of a styling refresh or repair. We will provide you with your own basic sewing kit!
