At this lino cutting workshop, people learned how block prints have been made. Under tattooist Matt’s guidance, almost every participant drew their own design to make one and only stamp.

People design their own drawing on paper, take a picture and send it to an ipad, and draw one more time on a translucent paper over the ipad with a pencil. If you press the translucent paper on the linoleum block (like pink rubber carving blocks), it transfers the lines to the block very clearly! Then the real work begins. Carving around the lines was very nervous yet therapeutic.

Once you finish carving, you can apply any color of fabric painting and stamp wherever you want!
